Five-Year Limited Warranty
The warranty below is the one printed on every Canyon Controls specification sheet, reproduced here in full with the claim procedure and safety notices that go with it.
Effective August 25, 2026 · Applies to products sold on or after this date
1. What is covered
Canyon Controls warrants to the original purchaser that each product, at the time of its sale by Canyon Controls, is free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal and proper use, for five (5) years from the date of purchase.
The warranty covers the Olympus Room Controller, the Aspen rotary dimmer, the Tahoma switch in all button configurations, and the Sierra sensor. It runs to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
2. Our only obligation
Canyon Controls’ only obligation under this warranty is to correct a covered defect by repair or replacement, at Canyon Controls’ option. A repaired or replaced product carries the remainder of the original five-year term; it does not start a new one.
This warranty covers the product itself. It does not cover the labour to remove, reinstall or re-commission it, nor freight, scaffolding, access equipment, or any other cost of getting to and from the installed location.
3. What is not covered
This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from:
- accident, misuse, abuse or negligence;
- modification, alteration, or repair by anyone other than Canyon Controls;
- installation not performed in accordance with the product instructions, the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), or applicable state and local codes;
- an unsuitable physical or operating environment — including operation outside the published temperature, humidity or voltage limits, exposure to moisture or corrosive atmospheres, or installation in an enclosure without the specified clearances;
- improper maintenance, or use not in accordance with the product instructions;
- power surges, lightning, over-voltage, incorrect supply voltage, miswiring, or connection to non-conforming Class 2 wiring or non-compliant cabling;
- connection of incompatible loads, drivers or third-party equipment;
- cosmetic wear, or discolouration of finishes from cleaning agents, solvents or ultraviolet exposure;
- consumable or field-replaceable items, and normal wear of mechanical parts.
4. Disclaimer of other warranties
Canyon Controls makes no other warranty, either expressed or implied, with respect to this product. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all implied warranties — including any implied warranty of merchantability or of fitness for a particular purpose — are disclaimed; and where they cannot lawfully be disclaimed, they are limited in duration to the five-year term of this written warranty.
No dealer, distributor, representative, agent or employee has authority to enlarge or vary this warranty, and no statement made by any of them binds Canyon Controls.
5. No consequential damages
Canyon Controls is not liable for any loss, inconvenience, or damage — including direct, special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages — resulting from the use of, or inability to use, this product. That exclusion covers, without limitation, damage to or loss of use of any equipment, lost sales or profits, project delay, and any delay or failure to perform this warranty obligation.
6. How to make a claim
Contact Canyon Controls or your authorised distributor before returning anything. To open a claim, have ready:
- the product SKU and, where present, the serial or batch number;
- proof of purchase showing the date;
- the project name and installation address;
- a description of the fault, including when it appears and what the indicators are doing;
- photographs of the installed product and its wiring, where safe to take them.
We will issue a return authorisation if a return is required. Do not ship product back without one. Products returned without authorisation may be refused.

7. Certification status
ETL Listing (Intertek) and cETLus certification to ANSI/UL 916 and CSA C22.2 No. 205 is in progress and not yet complete. Until a listing is issued, Canyon Controls products must not be represented, specified or installed as listed equipment. FCC Part 15 Class B and RoHS compliance are as stated on the applicable specification sheet. Contact us for current certification status before relying on a listing in a submittal or permit application.
8. Safety notice
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician
Canyon Controls room controllers operate on 120 V line voltage. Improper installation can cause fire, electric shock, serious injury or death. Disconnect power at the circuit breaker before installing or servicing. Do not energise a product that is visibly damaged, and do not operate any product outside its published ratings. Follow the installation instructions supplied with the product and all applicable codes.
9. Your legal rights
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights, which vary by state or country. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the limitations in sections 4 and 5 may not apply to you. Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
This warranty is the complete and exclusive statement of Canyon Controls’ warranty obligations. Sales terms, including price, delivery and remedies for non-conforming shipment, are governed separately by the terms of sale of the distributor or representative from whom you purchased.
The full warranty text also appears on each product’s specification sheet, available on the Downloads page. Where this page and a specification sheet differ, the specification sheet supplied with the product governs.
